Arrangement of a scene in a production, either film or theatre. Everything that is on screen is there for a reason.
Raiders of the lost arc- Indiana Jones- Mountain is there meaning it's important. The character is significant because he is in the middle of the screen, the hat is. Animal noises. Light through the trees to show its day time but the image below is dark and mysterious. Statue that frightened person. Something scary is going to happen. Adventure because they don't know what it is. Main character stands up to it to show he is big and heroic. important people come up on screen. Mark of quality. Strange dark music makes you wait for something to happen. The stick shows the character has done this before, he knows what hes doing. Giving place and date where it is happening. Map to show they might not actually know where they are. The gun to show he has weapons and he can take care of himself. Showing he's in charge and the above character stepping out of the shadows so people should be scared of him.
Raiders of the lost arc- Indiana Jones- The first thing we see is a mountain which must mean its important to our setting. It shows us that he is in a country where there are tree's mountains etc. This must also mean that

assignment one
For this assignment, i had to create some ideas for an advert for play station. Here is a mind map of my original ideas.

To begin with, i came up with three ideas. One of my ideas was to have someone asleep in bed and have the advert as if they were in a dream, however i decided not to do this idea because it isn't original and people have seen things like this before. Another idea was having my brother running and jumping about which is the idea i decided to go with. The last idea i had was to have my brother on his bike and riding about different locations and making it look like he has travelled on a bike ride. This would end up being a biking game, however i thought that there wouldn't really be a wide range audience for this type of game so i decided on my second idea.
I used the internet to find out information about PEGI, here is what i found.

I have created a SWOT analysis for myself:
- Strengths - Good at time management and getting things done on time
- Weaknesses - Getting good camera shots and making them interesting
- Opportunity - to play around with the camera shots wen filming. Using the Go Pro.
- Threats - mainly weather, if it rains it could work, but we wouldn't want to damage the equipment.
I have done some research on the play station console, and some games that you can play on it. In one of our first lessons, we watched some examples of the advert we are being asked to produce and i decided to take ideas for my advert from the video we watched called 'heights'. I thought this would be good for me to create, as it doesn't have a high budget and the locations would be near by places i could use. Here is the link to that video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxM4_G08UT0
I also took ideas from the game 'GTA' because this includes a person running around a city/town, jumping over walls and cars etc. I wanted to keep my advert quite plain so it left the audience waiting to see what the game is like by buying it. I have looked at age ratings for games and the type of people who would play my game.
Here is my pen profiling and mood board.
I used the internet to find out information about PEGI, here is what i found.
PEGI
PEGI stands for pan European game information. Age ratings
are systems used to ensure that entertainment content, such as films, videos,
DVD’s, and computer games, are clearly labelled by age according to the content
they contain. Age ratings provide guidance to consumers (particularly parents to help them decide whether or not to buy a particular product. Computers and
video games are now enjoyed by millions of players throughout Europe. In the
UK, 37% of the population aged between 16 and 49 describe themselves as ‘active gamer’ defined as currently playing games on a console, handheld or PC. In
comparison, in Spain and Finland 28% of the population aged 16 and 49 are
defined as ‘active gamer’ (Nielsen report 2008). While most games (49%) are
suitable for players of all ages there are many that are only suitable for
older children and young teenagers. There are also some games (4%) that are
made for adults only (over the age of 18).
I have done research on advertising in the gaming industry and i found that the mobile games market is increasingly saturated, marketplace visibility continues to drop, user acquisition cost continues to rise, and we're still seeing a bit of an exodus in pursuit of greener grass, or PC games. A common current theme of development in the games industry is a merging of previously distinct categories. Whether this is between real life and virtual reality with the growth of immersive gaming; or between business and consumers as crowd funding is used to finance both the development of games and the rewards of playing them, the blurring of previous boundaries is starting to permeate the industry. We expect this trend to continue and intensify over the coming years.
The budget for my advert:
I will use a GoPro for filming which will cost £13 per day. I will also use a Canon C100 which is £75 per day. A lightweight Tripod which is £20 an hour. Actor at £7 an hour and food and drink for everyone for £30. My total would come to £306 for the single day of shooting. I will only need one day to film my advert therefore this would be the total amount.
The target audience:
I have decided that my target audience will be 14+. I think this is a good target age because i am using my brother in the advert who is 14 therefore it means people his age will watch it and want to play. I also think this is good because it is a wide range and there may be more people playing it. When you are 14, you want to play games with your friends on your play station and this game they would all be able to play together because they are all old enough. This is an appropriate age because there is nothing inappropriate about the game or the advert. It is someone their age running around and either being chased by someone or chasing something. In more detail, they will have certain tasks they have to finish. If they do not finish them in time then they will end up being chased by something and they have to keep going until the time is up.
Project schedule:
I have thought about my schedule and i will spend one day filming as my idea is pretty simple so it wouldn't take too long to film. If i ended up having to get more footage, it would be easy because i can just take my brother out again and get some more footage. I will not need to hire locations or actors, therefore i don't have a certain time length that i am allowed to use somewhere. I will take at least 1 week to edit because i want it to be very interesting and fast paced therefore it will take me a while to get it how i want it to be.
Legal and ethical considerations:
In many games now, there are a lot of illegal things included and many racist comments etc. Which is why all these games are aged 18+. Mine however, is a simple story line, made for younger children aged 14. This is because there aren't a lot of games for this age now, and a lot of children cannot play together anymore. I figured, this is a great way to get children to play together again and feel comfortable playing things that are their age. I will not include any racist comments etc. I don't think this is appropriate as the children may hear the things that are being said and take things from it which isn't good. I will not include either of these because it wouldn't be appropriate for the age.
Copyright:
Copyright is a legal right created by the law of a country that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights for its use and distribution. This us usually only for a limited time. The exclusive rights are not absolute but limited by limitations and exceptions to copyright law, including fair use.
The resources i will use will be, a GoPro camera, canon C100 camera, a lightweight tripod, my brother as an actor, A computer in the editing suite to edit on premier pro which is another resource. The outdoors, grass areas, walls etc. Resources i used to learn and fine information was mainly the internet, and the power points from our lessons. I used the power points from lessons because they have all the information i need on there and its easy to find certain parts that i need. I have used the power points more than the internet because everything we needed for this assignment i already had that we had done each week where i took my information from.

Trailers
Trailers are often made by a group of people called a creative team. They often have overlapping skills and expertise. As a marketing tool they are likewise the product of a group effort. Trailers require editing skills and acumen. Every film is unique therefore so is every trailer and marketing campaign. People involved in the creation of a trailer:
- Editor
- Creative director
- Copy righter
- Graphic designer
- Music supervisor/ Sound librarian
- Market researcher
- Voice over artist
- Film producer
- Film director
- Film editor
- Studio head

Social media pages
Most new films will create a social media page, for example a Facebook or Twitter page. People who want to know more about films etc will look at these pages to maybe find some behind the scenes clips etc. Actors starring in the films will often publish pictures etc of them as their characters in a new film and people will share it and it becomes a big thing, especially on Twitter. An example of something like this would be Zoolander 2. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson made a 'splash at Paris fashion week' when they walked down the Valentino runway dressed as their characters from Zoolander. Social media sites such as Instagram, Twitter and vine exploded with the hashtag #Zoolander2. This hashtag is found on Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson official Instagram pages. The Tinup website says Movie Makers everywhere should be using social media sites to advertise films if they aren't already. Most people these days are on at least one social media site therefore advertising on these sites will be seen by possibly everyone in the world. Social media is a used on a large scale so it would get the films millions of views. Behind the scenes moments are also really good to out onto social media sites because people really enjoy seeing whats going on behind the scenes. Sometimes this gets the film more views basically because people enjoyed what went on behind so much. Ben and Owen dressed as their characters.
Roles in social media:
- Stars
- Marketing directors
